Inmiddels is ook de binnenkant van de tweede wielkast (linksachter) op z'n plek vastgehecht en kan het aflassen gaan beginnen. Het wordt steeds leuker nu er plaatwerk bijkomt in plaats van het weg te slijpen. Natuurlijk; we zijn er nog lang niet, maar voor onze ogen begint het project nu duidelijk vorm te krijgen.

Ook de achterkanten van de binnenzijde wielkasten worden nu door Henk pasgemaakt en aan nieuw plaatwerk vastgelast. De uit Engeland afkomstige achterstukken waren prima, maar er was aan de binnenkant toch wel wat meer weggeroest dan de omvang van de plaatjes alleen. Zo blijft er toch nog ruimte voor eigen creativiteit ...
Meanwhile, the second inner wheelwell (rear-left) has been positioned and roughly attached, so the welding/finishing can start next week. It's more fun now, watching the sheet-metal grow on the bus instead of grinding it all away. Of course, we still have a long way to go, but the bus is gaining beauty under our eyes. Henk made further preparations on the lower inside of the wheel wells at the back of the bus, the metal that suppports the battery tray. The metal for those parts came with the package from England. They had to be extended with some more metal, because the battery fumes had caused a little more damage to the metal just above the replacement parts. (There was more to replace than the size of the new part).
